AUSTIN, TX (KTRK) -- A group of UT professors is suing over the new campus carry laws that take effect next month.

The professors are going after the school and the attorney general in their suit. They claim the new law forces their classrooms to host, "overly-solicitous and dangerously-experimental gun policies."

Meanwhile, a group claims colleges in Houston aren't ready.

The Houston Millennials and Gun-Free UH groups are calling on Mayor Sylvester Turner to create a task force to oversee the law across the city. Those groups claim there has been no talk between schools on this change in policy and the city has done very little to discuss how it will support the law.

Mayor Turner told the groups he will consider this request in the coming days.
