HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Authorities say a teenager now in custody was drunk when he led deputies on a chase in north Montgomery County last night.

The 19-year-old driver nearly slammed head-on into a sheriff's deputy, speeding down winding Farm to Market Road 1484.

The deputy followed him until the teen slammed into a tree, got out and took off into the woods.

A K9 unit was called out and found him lying on the ground.

Deputies booked him and charged him with evading arrest and driving drunk.
