Suspect charged with capital murder in double killing in Midtown

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Charges have been filed against a suspect in the double murder of a man and transgender woman in Midtown.



Robert Isaac, 34, and Willie Sims, 33, were both killed at about 11am on Sunday, April 10, at 1100 Dennis Street near the Fannin Street intersection.



Tariq Lackings, 23, is charged with capital murder in the deaths. Isaac suffered gunshot and stab wounds. Sims suffered stab wounds. Police say both were pronounced dead at the scene.



Lackings was arrested Wednesday and charged. Investigators believe there are additional suspects involved. Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
