FREEPORT, TX -- An apartment fire in Freeport damaged more than a dozen units and forced almost 200 people to evacuate.
The fire broke out around 2pm at the Azalea Courts apartments
City of Freeport officials said the fire destroyed at least 16 units. Not much was left of the apartment building. No resident was hurt but officials say several pets were killed.
Firefighters are still on the scene looking for hot spots. The cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
