HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Senior residents at a five-story high-rise apartment building in north Houston were evacuated after a fire broke out early this morning. They are now being permitted back inside the residence.
Firefighters are now on the scene. We're hearing the fire started in a fourth floor hallway of the Lyerly Senior High-Rise Apartments, located on Lyerly at Fulton around 4am.
There are no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Most of the residents evacuated on their own and some residents stayed on the fifth floor because the fire did not spread due to concrete flooring.
