HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A security guard shot in north Houston around 3:30 this morning was likely saved by a bulletproof vest.
Police were called out to the Bel Reventon Club on Irvington and Yorkshire for a report of shots fired.
Investigators say the guard had escorted a group of two men and two women out of the club for being too rowdy.
The suspects got into a white SUV, and at some point, one of the men opened fire.
The guard was hit in the chest but was not seriously injured because he was wearing the vest.
The guard returned fire, but was not certain whether anyone was hit in the vehicle.
The suspects fled the scene going south on Irvington and are still on the run.
