Electrical issue possible cause of SE Houston tire shop fire, investigators say

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Arson investigators say electrical problem may be the blame for a fire that happened at a tire shop in southeast Houston.

Ortiz Tire Shop is located in the 7800 block of Belfort and Belbay. The fire destroyed the office area of the tire shop, but spared most of the inventory according to the business owner.

A fire official says an ambulance crew was the first to see smoke and call in for help.
