School bus overturns in North Texas accident

WAXAHACHIE, TX -- Emergency personnel have responded to a school bus rollover accident along a rural North Texas highway.

The Waxahachie Daily Light reports Tuesday morning's wreck involves a vehicle from the Waxahachie Independent School District. The newspaper reports the school bus, which ended up on its side, carried nearly 20 children.

Several ambulances were dispatched to the scene near Farm-to-Market 879. Details weren't immediately available on how many people were hurt or what caused the accident.

The Ellis County Sheriff's Office and school district officials didn't immediately return messages Tuesday.

Waxahachie is 25 miles south of Dallas.
