ROSENBERG, TX (KTRK) -- Police are investigating two related shooting scenes in Rosenberg: one at an apartment complex, the second at Traylor Stadium.

The first shooting happened around 1:50am Wednesday at the Brittany Square Apartments on 4720 Reading Road. When officers arrived, they found one female victim deceased at the scene. A second victim was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital. The male victim is reported to be in stable condition and is expected to make a recovery.

A suspect in the shooting was then spotted leaving the scene by officers. Police chased after the suspect and confronted him outside Traylor Stadium in the 4800 block of Avenue I at Stadium Drive.

At some point, officers fired their guns. The suspect died on scene from gunshot wounds.

Investigators say the victims and the suspects are in their 20s but no names are being released at this time.

A spokesperson for Lamar Consolidated ISD says the shooting did not involve any students. The district says all of the police activity is at the district's football stadium and not on the campus of Lamar Consolidated High School, which is located next to the stadium.

The Texas Rangers are now assisting Rosenberg Police in the investigation.
