Police: Fight between shoppers at Walmart ends in deadly shooting

STAFFORD, TX (KTRK) -- Stafford police say a fight between two shoppers at a Walmart ended with a shooting that left one of them dead.

It happened sometime after 6pm Wednesday at the Walmart in the 11200 block of West Airport Boulevard.

Police say a man was shopping with his wife and kids when he and another adult male got into an fight inside the store. The altercation spilled out into the parking lot, where the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the father twice.

The victim was taken to Hermann Memorial Southwest in critical condition but didn't make it.

The suspect is still at large. Police do not believe there is a relationship between him and the victim.

Meanwhile, that Walmart was evacuated and closed to shoppers. The company issued the following statement:

"Our hearts go out to those involved. Walmart is working with police on their investigation."
