HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A deadly three-vehicle wreck shut down a road in Brazoria County Friday morning.
It happened on FM 523 just south of FM 2004. DPS troopers say a man driving a 2003 Volkswagen was traveling north on FM 523 when he veered into the southbound lane and was struck by a pickup truck.
Following that initial head-on collision, another vehicle struck the Volkswagen.
"From what witnesses have told us he was more than half way into the lane of oncoming traffic," said DPS Trooper Jerry Bennet. "From what I've found out, Mr Williams was coming from work. I don't believe he was on drugs. There were no drugs that were in his car, no alcohol in the car."
We've learned that the driver of that Volkswagen is 25-year-old Seth Williams. He did not survive. The other drivers involved sustained only minor injuries.
Rick Ramsey lives just off FM 523. Friday's accident happened right in front of his home.
"It was terrible. You could literally hear the metal," Ramsey said, adding that he's seen four or five accidents at this location in the past.
"As you see, as you make this curve here, you've got this tree line. So you don' t see until their right here at the heart of the curve. And so if you're moving fast, well, they're on top of you before you can make any changes. They need to come out here and trim these trees so people can see the lights."
