HARRIS COUNTY (KTRK) -- A shooting Monday morning at a north Harris County auto shop may have been a case of a man going to the wrong place to find a man he had a grudge against.
It happened just before 10am, at IDB Racing Repair and Restoration, off FM-1960 west.
"The man went in there looking for someone and the owner didn't know who he was talking about," said HCSO Homicide Sgt. Robert Spurgeon. "He (the suspect) was angry and threatening."
When the man approached the store owner authorities say he discharged his firearm at the suspect, killing him.
It was not a case of attempted robbery, or even typical workplace violence.
"I believe the man went to the wrong place," the detective said.
Spurgeon said he believe this is a case of self-defense and that it will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The name of the deceased suspect has not been released.
