HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Two men are on the run after a deadly home invasion Saturday morning on Willow St. near Ester Dr. in North Houston, according to police.

Investigators say two men armed with pistols knocked on the door of a home in the 8200 block of Willow and forced their way inside when the victim's wife answered the door. They demanded money and one suspect got into a fight with George William Edmond, Jr., 36, upstairs. Edmond was shot once inside the home and as the suspects were leaving, Edmond followed them and he was shot again outside, police said.

Edmond ran across the street and collapsed on a neighbor's porch and died before help arrived.

"I don't know why he was running there, if it was a panicked fight or flight, or reaction, or if he just took off, or if he was trying to get help across the street," explained Sgt. Matthew Brady.

Eyewitnesses said the two suspects took off in a four door, grey vehicle. Police described the two as black men between the ages of 19-23. One suspect had braided hair with beads and a dark complexion and the other man is clean shaven with short hair and a medium brown complexion. If you have any information that can help, call Crime Stoppers.
