HPD says the out-of-breath suspect was arrested after he and two other men tried to break into several vehicles

Neighbors told HPD they noticed the men jumping over the fence at an apartment complex near Almeda and Ewing.

The men allegedly tried to break into several cars, but eventually left in a Buick.

Harris County Pct. 7 deputy constables spotted them leaving and began to follow them. HPD joined in, and they all took off in a chase down Highway 288.

At one point, the three men crashed the Buick and took off running.

An HPD helicopter led officers to where they were hiding, and they were taken into custody.

The three men now face burglary and evading charges.

One of the suspects complained of chest pains after his arrest, but was said to be basically out of breath. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Meantime, one of the officers involved in the foot chase twisted his ankle, and was also loaded into an ambulance.
