HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An M.D. Anderson doctor accused of poisoning a colleague claims she's killed before. That's according to court transcripts documenting recorded phone calls that forced the delay of her trial.

Dr. Ana Maria Gonzalez-Angulo, a breast cancer oncologist at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is accused of poisoning Dr. George Blumenschein, a cancer specialist also at M.D. Anderson. She allegedly used ethylene glycol, a substance used in antifreeze-to lace his coffee last year.

The transcripts, from a hearing earlier this week, detail recorded phone calls not yet made public. They paint a picture of a paranoid and vengeful woman.

They say Gonzalez-Angulo bragged that she's had "people assassinated and that she takes care of things the Colombian way or Colombian style."

Specifically, the prosecutor told District Judge Katherine Cabaniss she was recorded saying, "There was a kidnapping of a family member of hers in Columbia (sic) so she had to have two people assassinated."

The phone calls are about six hours long and were recorded without her knowing. The state says much of them are about Blumenschein.

She said he was "under surveillance by her bodyguards and a private investigator and that she was utilizing those people to follow him."

She allegedly illegally accessed his medical history and told colleagues at M.D. Anderson about it and then threatened co-workers, grand jurors and witnesses saying she would "sue and take revenge out on M.D. Anderson and anyone that made her look bad and that testified against her at the grand jury that hurt her."

The prosecutor, Justin Keiter, told the judge she also said, "People were going to pay. They were going to get it from her defense counsel ... he was going to assassinate George Blumenschein on the witness stand and that she could not wait for it to happen."

Gonzalez-Angulo's defense attorneys were granted a 10-day continuance based on the allegations in the phone calls. Prosecutors admitted some of what Gonzalez-Angulo said was a lie.

Jury selection has been re-scheduled for September 11.
