Multiple injuries reported in wreck in north Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police are investigating a serious injury accident in north Houston.

It happened this morning at 600 East Crosstimbers at Helmers. A vehicle flipped on its side and we're told multiple people were injured.

A witness says four people on board the van were headed to work, traveling on Crosstimbers when the van was struck by a passenger car that ran a light on Helmers. The van was pushed into a pole, and then the car caught fire. The driver of the car is believed to be the most seriously injured.

Of the four people in the van, three were taken to a hospital. The fourth passenger was walking around at the scene.
