HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A driver getting ready to load his vehicle was found dead at a east Houston truck yard.
Police say a driver was picking up his vehicle in a truck yard at the 7300 block of Texarkana St. when he discovered the body of a 35-year-old Hispanic man who is also a driver.
Police say the victim was dropped off at the truck yard around 2:30 a.m. Not long after, police say there was some sort of confrontation.
A witness described to police hearing gunshots 15 minutes later and saw two men running down Texarkana Street.
"He was coming in preparing his truck and that's why the hood is up on the truck. And either he confronted someone or he confronted someone," Houston Police Detective Shaun Sylvester said.
Police said it doesn't appear to be a robbery.
A friend of the victim told ABC13 that the man parked his rig at the truck yard routinely and has never had any issues in the past.
