Man fatally shot in mysterious case in NW Harris County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Deputies are investigating some strange circumstances surrounding a deadly shooting Thursday morning.

Officials say they got a call for a help shortly after 10am in the 9900 block of Oakland Lane. The homeowner told authorities his friend was suffering from a gunshot wound to his head.

Sgt. Cedrick Collier with the Harris County Sheriff's Office said the victim and his girlfriend had been sleeping in a parked car outside the home. The homeowner, a friend of the couple, invited them in and offered his couch for them to sleep while he went out.

Upon his return, the homeowner found the victim slouched over the couch, his girlfriend gone.

Authorities said the victim was transported to the hospital where he died. The girlfriend is still missing. Authorities still do not have a motive for the shooting.
