Man in pickup ran over wife during fight in Kingwood, police say

KINGWOOD, TX (KTRK) -- Police say a man in a pick-up ran over his wife during a fight Saturday night at their apartment complex on North Pine Drive near Northpark in Kingwood.

Investigators say during the fight, the couple's dog escaped and the man jumped into his pickup to go find it.

As he drove off, the wife apparently held on to the side mirror, slipped and was run over. Investigators say her husband stopped, thought she was faking and continued to look for his dog.

He returned a short time later, realized she was really hurt and called 911. She's in the hospital in critical condition.

It will be up to a grand jury to decide if the husband faces charges.
