Man, dog shot in possible home invasion

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man and his dog were attacked during a possible home invasion.

It happened in north Houston around midnight this morning at a home on Averill near Frawley.

Police say several men were inside the home during the incident. One of the victim's roommates told police someone came in the house and shot one of the men along with his dog.

The victim was shot in the stomach. His pet pit bull was shot in the face. Both are expected to survived.

Police are still looking for the gunmen and say the incident remains under investigation.
