A man was arrested in eat Houston after being holed up inside a home for an hour.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man was arrested this morning after an hour-long standoff in east Houston, but he wasn't going away easily, attempting to squirm away from police while in handcuffs.

The man was arrested on Rusk near Eddington Street after being holed up inside a home for about an hour.

Eyewitness News' cameras were rolling when an officer attempted to walk the man to a nearby police cruiser, but as they got closer, the man tried to run away while he was still in handcuffs.

Police say the man assaulted his brother and sister.

Jodi Silva, Houston Police Department spokesperson, said, "This is an older sibling who was fighting with his younger siblings, both a brother and a sister. And both the brother and the sister fled the house after the altercation."

Once the man got in the cruiser, he still tried to get away and kicked the cruiser's window multiple times.

He will face multiple charges, including assault of a family member.
