LifeFlight responds after three injured in Baytown house fire
Three people have been injured in a house fire in Baytown

BAYTOWN, TX (KTRK) -- There is not much left of the small yellow house on Moller Street in Baytown. Fire quickly swept through around 5:45 this morning. Alice Barnett was asleep next door when it all began.

"It was popping and a going on and the flames was done above the house," said Barnett, who has lived in her Baytown home since 1962. "Whenever we got woke up to come out of the motor home. We sat outside and waited for the Fire Department."

The Baytown Fire Department says four family members were home when the fire broke out. A grandfather and two grandchildren, ages 19 and 11, were injured. The 19 year old transported via life flight. Neighbors say he has Downs syndrome, and appear to be gravely injured.

"Some of (the other kids) were running around to try to get the other out. And one guy was telling the girl she couldn't go back in there and somehow or another they got him out and to the front yard," said Barnett.

Investigators say there in no official cause of the fire yet. But by all accounts, it appears to be electrical and accidental.

"It's not believed to be suspicious," said Baytown Spokesperson Patti Jett. "It's believed to be accidental. And the investigation is ongoing. The air conditioning is one site they're looking at everything."
