HPD: One dead after shooting in north Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston Police are investigating the death of a man shot in the Acres Homes area at the 1000 block of North Lane at Knox late Tuesday afternoon.

A neighbor called 911 after hearing a gunshot and HPD patrol officers found an unknown black male lying in the roadway, shot several times.

The identity of the victim, who died at the scene, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

At this time, there are no known witnesses nor suspects.
