Decomposing body found in car's trunk
HPD was called out after residents complained of a foul smell coming from a parked vehicle

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police responded to a report of a dead body found in the trunk of a car in northwest Houston.

Around 1pm Saturday residents called authorities about a foul odor coming from a parked car on the 1000 block of Pinemont.

"We walked over there to smell it, and it smelled horrible," said Brittany Williams who called police. "There were flies everywhere. There were bugs on the ground. There was a like a little...I don' know if it was oil or it looked like oil, but it was bugs all over it."

Williams said the vehicle's windows were fogged up and there were flies seen inside. Investigators had to pry open the trunk. They found the decomposing body, but would not say whether or not it was a man or a woman.

It's unknown at this time the cause of death of the person, and investigators on scene said they could not comment on the condition of the body. The Medical Examiner was called to the scene.

The vehicle was reported missing out of Fort Bend County a few days ago. They don't know the circumstances. There is also a missing person out of Fort Bend County related to this car.
