HOUSTON (KTRK) -- School officials are working to find out if any students or staff should be tested for tuberculosis after a Houston student was treated for the infection.
Houston ISD says a student at Sugar Grove Academy Middle School was suspected of having a case of TB, but is recovering now.
In a letter sent home to parents, officials say they are monitoring the situation closely, especially since TB can be contagious if it becomes an active disease.
The school says parents of children who may need to be tested will receive a separate letter and consent form by February 1.
