CLINTON, MA (KTRK) -- Several people were injured when a hot air balloon crashed into some power lines.

It happened last night just blocks away from a neighborhood. The crash knocked out power to dozens of homes.

Terrified witnesses recorded the scene on their cell phones as the balloon hit the wires causing a loud explosion.

Witness Bob King said, "(It was a) big flash of red right in front of you and then another one. Never seen anything like it, and I'm still shaking from it. We thought they were gone, we thought they were gone. Everybody was calling 911."

Officials say the five people on board suffered serious burns. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
