HOUSTON (KTRK) -- If no one's told you today or you've missed the memo, Happy Constitution Day!
Eleven years ago, Congress designated September 17th as the day to honor and reflect on our nation's founding document. Inside Ms. Shanks' 5th grade classroom at Harvard Elementary school in the Heights, the students did just that by looking front and center at lawyer Deborah Wright. Wright was 1 of over 100 Houston Bar Association fanned out across the city, reading "So you want to be President" to 206 classes.
"We don't think about it. We sort of take it for granted but it is the cornerstone, it is the founding document," said Wright.
