Firefighters spent this morning battling a one-alarm blaze at an apartment complex in southwest Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Fire damaged several apartments near NRG Park early Saturday morning.

The fire broke out shortly after 7am inside a unit in The Morgan apartment complex on Westridge near Kirby.

Firefighters tell us three to four units were damaged by the fire. Several more have water damage.

A man who lives in the unit next door to the source of the fire tells us he smelled smoke and then alerted everyone in the building that there was a fire.

No injuries were reported. One firefighter was treated for possible overheating.

We're told the people who live in the unit were not home at the time.

The arson unit is investigating.
