Firefighter hospitalized battling house fire caused by lightning

A lighting strike is likely to blame for a house fire in the Huffman area. Several firefighters were injured fighting the flames.
Severe weather is likely to blame for a house fire in the Huffman area.

Neighbors say they saw a lightning strike and then watched as the home on Big Deer near Humble-Crosby Road became engulfed in flames.

A woman and three children were inside at time. All of them got out of the home safely.

One firefighter was transported to the hospital with cardiac issues. Four other firefighters were treated on the scene for exhaustion.

A number of volunteer fire departments responded to the scene.
