Fire destroys vacant home in the Heights, no one hurt

HOUSTON -- Firefighters battled a two-alarm house fire in the Heights early this morning.

Flames and heavy smoke can be seen shooting from the roof of a home on Yale Street at West 11th Street.

The home showed signs of severe damage, but it was vacant at the time of the fire. The home owners are living in the garage apartment behind the house.
