Fatal wreck shuts down stretch of FM 529 in both directions
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A fatal, head-on collision in northwest Harris County has prompted authorities to shut down both directions of FM 529 between Highway 99 and Peek Road.
According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, a male and a female were pronounced dead at the scene. Two children were airlifted from the scene to an area hospital; their condition is not currently known.
Another male was transported to Memorial Hermann Katy. His condition is also not known.
The Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department says the highway will remain closed for the next few hours.
Deputies say the cause of the accident remains unclear.
