HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A group of people in southwest Houston evaded tragedy Monday night.

Police say their minivan got hung up on the railroad tracks off Main Street near Post Oak as an oncoming train barreled toward them.

However, all four adults and three children inside the van were able to jump out before train crashed into the vehicle.

The driver, Bindhu David, told Eyewitness News, "Within five minutes, the other train came from all the way from there and we saw the light and I screamed at everybody, everybody got (out of) the car. I had my brother's kids, my son, my parents were there in the (car). Everybody got out. Thank God."

Police say no one was injured in the crash.
