Passerby found the body of a nude woman with stab wounds on Houston's south side Wednesday morning

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman's body was found in a ditch on Houston's south side Wednesday morning.

Houston police say a man was walking to McDonald's around 8:30am when he came across her body in a field near a construction site in the 6900 block of Madrid near Idaho.

Police have not identified her yet, but one family showed up, very concerned the victim is their loved one.

Dominique Taylor is praying the woman found dead this morning is not her sister.

"She had a baby and everything... Ain't nobody telling me nothing. I don't see nothing, nobody will let me go back there to see if it's her. I'm supposed to wait until tomorrow to find out if it's her, that's hurtful," Taylor said.

Taylor tells Eyewitness News her sister has been living on the streets, on and off, for years.

Taylor said, "She was straight, doing good, got her own apartment and then I don't know what happened. I don't know what happened."

However, we still don't know who the victim is.

Police say the woman was found naked, covered in stab wounds.

She had no driver's license or other form of identification.

Houston Police Sgt. Matthew Brady said, "It's stressful for the families and we understand that, they get it done as quickly as they can. Normally we have some kind of identification near the body, but there's none of that at all."

People who believe they are family members of the victim tried several times to get a glimpse of the body, but each time, they were told to wait.

One man, Edward Antwon, is worried his daughter is dead.

"I hope it's nobody's daughter really, but it's somebody's daughter," he said.

Investigators will run fingerprints next for a definitive answer. Meanwhile, it's going to be a long night for this family.

Police say the area is known for narcotics activity and prostitution.

An area resident, Ed Robinson, said, "It's a dumping ground for prostitution and God knows whatever else they're doing back there."

This isn't the first woman found dead in this area. Police are investigating a possible connection between this case and two other unsolved death cases. In July, 35-year-old Lakeisha Michelle Perkins was raped to death and left at a warehouse on Wayland and Griggs. And last week near Calhoun and McGregor, another woman's naked lifeless body; she was found by construction workers at the top of a staircase in an apartment complex.

Authorities are asking for the public's help. If you have any information in this case, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
