Authorities are searching for two suspects they say stole cars and sold them. Mayra Moreno reports.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Harris County Sheriff's Office is looking for a pair of suspects connected to several car burglaries.

For one couple searching for a vehicle was only a click away but the problem was the SUV they found on Craigslist already had an owner.

"They could be crooks for all you know," said Susan Schade, Better Business Bureau.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. It was back in February when deputies arrived to the couple's home in northwest Harris County to tell them the Chevy Tahoe they bought online was stolen. The suspects who sold them the car are wanted in connection to several auto thefts.

"When you're doing private individuals it's a whole different ballgame cause you don't know them," said Schade.

The BBB said this is a common mistake and buyers should never automatically trust the seller.

"Number one - always assume the person is a con artist and you can work backward from there," said Schade.

The BBB also said if the seller rushes you, it's a red flag. Plus, always do your homework like checking Kelley Blue Book, ordering a Car Fax and more.

"You want to ask for anything that has the car information on it - 'show me your insurance,' 'show me that car is actually registered to that person'," said Schade.

If you have any information on the wanted suspects call Crime Stoppers at 713-22-TIPS.
