Pelican Island, TX (KTRK) -- Do you recognize this cremation urn? A woman said she found it Friday on Pelican Island.
Taylor Jones and her husband, Brandon, were looking for hidden treasures along the Galveston shore when they stumbled across the urn.
The urn, which weighs about three or four pounds, apparently contains the cremated remains of a woman who died more than 10 years ago.
A label on the outside of the urn is slightly damaged, but it clearly says the cremated remains belong to Earline Mary Barker who died July 30, 2003.
"She was 82 years old when she passed away," said Jones.
Jones thinks the urn might have been separated from a family during Hurricane Ike. She would like to return the remains to one of Barker's family members.
"I immediately thought, I need to find where this belongs," said Jones. "It felt out of place there because there's a lot of trash. I thought, somebody has to be missing this."
