HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Big crowds for the Capital One JamFest forced officials to close the entrance gates at Discovery Green for the second day in a row. The park reached capacity just hours into Sunday's music festival.

Final Four fever hit a high on Sunday and downtown Houston was bustling with fans. There were fans here to cheer their team on like Syracuse fan Meredith Kava.

"It's been crazy. A good day but my Syracuse Orange lost yesterday so not so great but we're here watching Pitbull, it's been fun," Kava said.

Others said they were at Discovery Green to watch the performers on stage from Flo Rida to Pitbull and Maroon 5.

March Madness Music Festival was full to capacity for the second day in a row. There were 65,000 fans in Discovery Green Park.

"It's an opportunity for 70,000 out of towners coming into town to get to really check out what Houston has to offer and what better weekend could you have than 70 degree weather and clear skies," said Todd Hollman with Houston's Final Four Committee.

Some waited in line for more than an hour.

"It's really cool we can bring all these people together and for free. That's the best part," Sugar Land resident Stefie Ouseph said.

Others just missed getting in.

"We got here in advance to try and beat the traffic but you can't beat the traffic in Houston. There's no way around it. I'm bummed right now because I can't get in," Kimmie Jones said.

Visitor Joe Piro says the city of Houston is a great town.

"I love the atmosphere here, it's amazing," Piro added.

March Madness Music Festival ended Sunday night but Fan Fest will reopen Monday at noon for one last day at the GRB Convention Center.

Yesterday, the park reached capacity twice and had to stop allowing people in.

The first closure happened while the band Twenty One Pilots was performing. Gates were closed for a little more than 30 minutes before being reopened for the watch party. The second happened around the time Kendrick Lamar was taking the stage in downtown Houston. With the second gate closure, event organizers said the no one else would be allowed in the rest of the night.
