HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man already in prison is facing more time behind bars after he was indicted Tuesday in a deadly 2008 road rage incident in east Harris County, authorities said.

Kenneth Bowman, 25, is charged with murder in connection to the death of Feliciano Concha-Maxinez on July 30, 2008.

Authorities say Concha-Maxinez was shot and killed while he driving home from a friend's house. Investigators say he had cut off a white Ford Taurus while turning onto Mesa Dr. from Beltway 8 North, and that's when the other driver opened fire.

One of the bullets struck Concha-Maxinez in the back of the head, causing him to lose control of his car and crash into a tree. He later died at the hospital.

The case went cold until 2012, when the HCSO's Cold Case Unit picked it up and new information led investigators to Bowman.

Bowman is currently incarcerated in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice's McConnell Unit in Beeville, Texas for a robbery charge. He will eventually be transferred to the Harris County Jail to face the new charges.

Since 2009, cold case investigators have been able to clear 22 cases and have been able to provide justice to 26 victims.
