LEAGUE CITY, TX (KTRK) -- A League City father got creative after a coral snake tried to take up residence in his family's home.

David greif says his daughters found the snake and screamed. Greif used a child sized plastic bench to block the snake in the corner then used some barbecue tongs to put the snake in an plastic toy bin.

The snake was released near a creek away from other homes.

Coral snakes, by the way, are venomous, and Pfizer was the only drug maker with FDA-approved coral snake antivenin. However, the company shut down its antivenin factory in 2003 because it said bites are so rare and it was unprofitable. The last batch of vials expired in 2010.
