Caught on camera: Toddler thrown into pool
The 23-month-old was tossed into the pool in an attempt to teach her a lesson, according to her mother

PHOENIX, AZ (KTRK) -- A Phoenix man was arrested on child abuse charges after repeatedly throwing his 23-month-old daughter into a pool, in what he said was an attempt to teach her a lesson.

Surveillance video out of Arizona shows the man tormenting his daughter by holding her over the edge of the pool. He then tossed her into the air and she landed face first into the water.

An unidentified woman rushed over to save her. The little girl was not hurt.

The child's mother says her daughter accidentally drowned a puppy in the pool and her father was trying to teach her a lesson. She discovered the video and reported him to police.

He's charged with child abuse. Relatives say the father is in the jail's infirmary and was attacked by other inmates.
