Cy-Fair ISD teacher accused of sexual relationship with foreign exchange student
CYPRESS, TX (KTRK) -- A Cy-Fair ISD teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old foreign exchange student.
"I have four children and two nephews in Cy-Fair ISD, it's very concerning. It could happen to any of my children," one parent said.
According to authorities, Nicole Jakubiak, 36, engaged in a sexual relationship with the student from March through May. Jakubiak, a first grade teacher at Robison Elementary School, admitted to sex with the student from Sweden but didn't want to seem like a predator, charging documents stated.
The teen is enrolled at Cypress-Ranch High School. Two teachers at Robison Elementary informed Principal Kelly Gerletti of the relationship.
"I think it's strange a grown woman would even desire a kid," said a grandparent in the district.

One of the teachers described to officers the conversation between her and Jakubiak. According to documents, Jakubiak told the teacher that the sex occurred at "two o'clock, three o'clock in the morning" when she was sleeping on the couch and her husband asleep. The teacher told police that Jakubiak tried to rush a team meeting because she wanted to spend time with the student before husband got home, according to court documents.
The teacher also said she received a text message on May 18 from Jakubiak stating the relationship with the foreign exchange student was over, court documents said.

"We have a lot of kids, grand-kids, great grand-kids. You have to keep talking to them and encourage them to share with you when they come home what happened at school today," said a grandparent out shopping for back to school clothes.
After investigating the teen's iPhone, authorities found semi-nude photos of Jakubiak and text messages corroborating the sexual relationship.
Cy-Fair ISD released the following statement to Eyewitness News:
"We were outraged to learn of the serious allegations brought against a former teacher. Once we learned of the allegations, she was immediately removed from the campus, and we have been cooperating fully with law enforcement throughout their investigation. Violation of student trust will not be tolerated. Anyone engaging in inappropriate behavior will be dealt with swiftly and to the fullest extent of the law."

Jakubiak told police that she was unaware that it was "illegal and thought because he was 18 he could make his own choices."
She is facing a felony charge of improper relationship with a student. Jakubiak is expected to appear in court this week.
