2-alarm fire breaks out at convenience store
Firefighters responded to a large fire at a convenience store in northwest Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- A 2-alarm fire has destroyed a convenience store in northwest Harris County.



Crews arrived at the shop on Gears Road near Veterans Memorial, and found flames shooting high into the sky.



The tin roof of the shop has come down, and a number of businesses in the strip center sustained some damage as well.



Arson investigators are at the scene, now searching for clues as to how this fire began.

Eyewitness video in to the ABC13 newsroom shows the massive flames coming from the shop.



Firefighters said the flames spread rapidly, growing to two alarms. That meant more engines and more crews rushing to the scene.



The Harris County Fire Marshal's Office is leading the investigation.
