Cleveland man killed in head-on collision

CLEVELAND, TX -- One person is dead and another has been airlifted following an accident on FM 787 Tuesday morning, Oct. 14.

Preliminary information suggests that the deceased man, David Byers, 42, of Cleveland, was traveling westbound on FM 787 in a 1992 black Chevy pickup when he, for reasons still unknown, veered into the path of an oncoming 2005 GMC commercial truck driven by Lisa Nesvitt, 41, of Nevada.

The head-on collision between the two trucks happened just west of the of CR 2243, known locally as Doc Howard Rd.
