Caribbean Princess cruise ship delayed to dock due to fog

GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- A cruise ship is being delayed on its return back to Galveston because of fog.

The Caribbean Princess, which was supposed to return Sunday, cannot dock at the Bayport Terminal due to heavy fog.

A Coast Guard boat crew had to evacuate a 12-year-old boy and two relatives from the same ship Sunday afternoon. The Coast Guard says the boy started suffering abdominal pains.

The child was taken to the hospital by ambulance to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He is reported to be in stable condition.

Princess Cruises says passengers will be forced to stay on board Sunday night. The ship is expected to arrive in port at 7am Monday.
