Body found believed to be missing east Texas girl
Cherokee County officials believe that a body found in Bullard is missing 10-year-old Kayla Gomez Orozco.

BULLARD, TX (KTRK) -- Officials have confirmed that a body found in east Texas is a missing 10-year-old girl.

Cherokee Sheriff James Campbell tells ABC13 affiliate KLTV-TV that a body discovered Saturday night in Bullard is Kayla Gomez Orozco, who was last seen around 7:30pm Tuesday after the prayer service at the First Assembly of God church in Bullard, just south of Tyler.

KETK reports that the body of Kayla Gomez had been found in a well.

Law enforcement officials also say a family member is a suspect and he is in custody.

Family member says it was a cousin who, "acted like an uncle to Kayla," and had married into the family.

An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday morning after her disappearance. On Friday, officials offered a $60,000 reward for information leading to Orozco's whereabouts.

Gomez is described as 4 feet tall and 90 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black Racquet & Jog shirt and a peach-colored skirt.

No other details have been released.
