Victim found in van
A person was found dead after van fire in north Houston.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A vehicle fire just north of Downtown is now a murder investigation.

A body was found in a burned-out van in north Houston.

The Houston Fire Department was called out around 2 am when a passing car saw a van on fire.

HFD put out the fire and found a body inside.

The fire was so intense that HPD does not know if the body found was that of a man or woman.

In fact, they can't tell if the person was in the drivers seat or passengers seat because the damage was so severe.

The body will be taken to the coroners office to determine how the person died and the van will be sent to the crime lab to search for any signs of foul play.
