Bison roams in floodwaters of Bear Creek

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- SkyEye captured an unusual sight Thursday in Bear Creek Park. It was a bison roaming around in the floodwater.

According to officials with Harris County Precinct 3, they had been trying to get the bison out for hours, and even built him a platform to stand on, but nothing worked.

Finally, this evening the bison was tranquilized and towed to safety by air boat and is now in the care of a veterinarian.

The water in the area is up to 15 feet deep. Other than being very fatigued, the buffalo is expected to be fine.

Sky Eye was over Bear Creek Park on Thursday, where roads remain covered in flood water.
