BAYTOWN, TX (KTRK) -- Authorities say a three-month-old drug investigation in Baytown led to the arrests of two alleged gang members and eight others.

In March, authorities began investigating several reports of narcotic activity in the 3200 block of Marvin Road. During their probe, detectives determined that two of the suspects, Servando Herrera and Raul Reza, allegedly were operating a criminal organizational system.

During a rain, authorities confiscated about 20 pounds of marijuana, 8 ounces of cocaine, 2 ounces of methamphetamine as well as quantities of PCP, Ecstasy, prescription pills and synthetic marijuana. Detectives also seized about 9 firearms, $4,300 in cash and a 2006 Mercedes Benz.

Authorities say Herrera is a member of the Blood Gang, and Reza is a documented Eastside Gang member. Both suspects allegedly also have South Texas drug connections.

Eight other suspects also were in connection to the investigation, and a total of 17 felony charges have been filed against all 10 people.
