PORT ARTHUR, TX -- Chevron Phillips Chemical says two people are injured after a fire at its Port Arthur facility.
A statement from the company says the situation at the southeast Texas chemical plant is "under control" and that all personnel have been accounted for.
Public Affairs Manager David Hastings says the fire started about 8pm at the plant on West Gulfway near Highway 82 in Port Arthur. Hastings says the fire was contained late Monday but not totally out.
Hastings declined to say whether the two injured were employees or to further identify them or say if they were hospitalized.
The Port Arthur Fire Department says it was not called to the scene and could not provide any further details.
The company says the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Port Arthur is about 90 miles east of Houston.
