Players held a tribute for the football player who was killed Monday in a car crash that also injured another teammate

ALVIN, TX (KTRK) -- Alvin High School students honored their teammate, Zac Juelich, who was killed in a car crash on Monday night.

Another football player, John Horton, was injured in the same crash.

Both were seniors. Tonight would have been their last game.

"He's still with us, watching over us," said cheerleader, Katie Nelson. "He's watching his boys, his brothers, play tonight."

Players and spectators wore wristbands honoring the two players. Alvin High School won, beating South Houston High.

Horton is still in the hospital, but is expected to be released Saturday.
