HOUSTON (KTRK) -- In the wake of those controversial undercover Planned Parenthood videos, activists in Houston are out today by the hundreds protesting the non-profit organization.
Activists recently claimed they taped Houston Planned Parenthood officials discussing fetal tissue donations, igniting a huge controversy in the city and across the country.
Today, Eyewitness News spoke with one of those protesters outside the Planned Parenthood - Gulf Coast headquarters in the 4600 block of Gulf Freeway.
Outside that facility, Rev. Jeff Medders, of Redeemer Church, said, "We brought about 30 people from our church down here after seeing the videos from the Center for Medical Progress as they exposed the barbaric nature of Planned Parenthood, of the chopping up of human children and selling them. We believed it was pivotal as Christians to come down here and protest and say that we are not for this."
Medders said he sees a tide changing in the country. He said, "I think more people, if I were to confess and say in front of everybody, for me, it was really out of sight, out of mind. And then I saw these videos and I thought, I can't be the same anymore. These are children who are being murdered in our city and we need to stand up and say, 'This is unacceptable'. I mean, our Constitution says, 'We the people'. ... This is just the beginning (of our efforts)."
It's unclear whether any counter protesters were also protesting at the same location.
